Job profile

As a member of the Upstream Development team you will be responsible for the design, development, and scale up of state-of-the-art bioreactor and clarification processes to produce biopharmaceuticals. As a Cell Culture Researcher in Upstream Process Development you will analyze and report the experimental data and give scientifically sound input.
You will join a stimulating group of international researchers in a very collaborative environment. As part of this group, your personal as well as your scientific growth are encouraged and developed.

Your profile

  • A bachelor or master degree in life science, biotechnology or equivalent.
  • At least eight years (BSc) or four years (MSc) work experience in a biotechnology or biopharmaceutical industry environment.
  • Experience of bioreactor process development for mammalian cell culture preferably regarding multiple cell lines.
  • A proven track record and demonstrable experience in Research and Development.
  • Thorough knowledge of mammalian cell metabolism.
  • Knowledge in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and about statistical tools is a plus.


  • A team-mindset with excellent communication skills (verbal and written in English).
  • You enjoy both hands-on and theoretical work, and are willing to participate in a rotation schedule for weekend work.
  • Effective time-management skills, ability to meet challenging deadlines.
  • An open mind and pragmatic approach and able to get thoughts, ideas and knowledge across in a constructive way.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team and able to ventilate and express your opinion.
